Sprints and HillclimbsThe RSSOC is a recognised MSA (Motor Sport Association) Club. We organise an annual Sprint and Hillclimb Championship for Reliant and Middlebridge sports cars. Approximately 25 - 30 rounds are held all over the country. To qualify for the Championship, you need to complete 8 events. However, you are welcome to compete at just a few events if you do not want to mount a full campaign. If you want a taster, members test days are run at Curborough in August prior to the RSSOC Sporting Weekend (see calendar for dates).
Any member of the RSSOC can compete and this section of ScimWeb will provide you with the information you require to get started and join the fun. If you do not currently own a Scimitar or Sabre, but are interested in Sprinting and Hillclimbing, the cars are great value for money and the Championship is very competitive while being friendly and enthusiastic too. At any time the Competition Secretary, Ben Gough, (competition.secretary@rssoc.co.uk) may know of competition ready cars, in different classes, that are for sale. The 2008 regs are available to download from this site. They are the draft regulations at the moment, until approval from the MSA is completed - but no changes are expected to be made to the draft regs. The regs include an application form for the Scimitar & Sabre Speed Championship. If you are thinking of joining the Championship in 2008, please take a look at the beginners guide. If you have further questions you can contact the RSSOC Competition Secretary, Ben Gough, at competition.secretary@rssoc.co.uk. The 2008 bogey times are yet to be posted.
